Email sender

Heedback sends a few kinds of email for you to the people who follow your work: changelog digests, changelog and post subscription confirmations, and status updates on feedback they posted or follow. Those emails are from you, so your name and logo lead them. The Email sender card in Settings, just below Public Profile & URLs, controls how they look.

Your logo in emails

The logo at the top of these emails is picked like this:

  1. Your email logo, if you uploaded one (Team plan, see below).
  2. Otherwise your portal logo, on every plan, when it is a PNG or JPG of 100 KB or less.
  3. Otherwise the first letter of your workspace name on a dark square, next to the name.

When a logo is shown, it appears on its own at the top of the email, up to 200 pixels wide and 48 pixels tall, and is never stretched larger than it is. People whose email app blocks images see your workspace name in its place.

SVG and WebP logos aren't used in email, because Gmail and Outlook don't show them reliably. Logos over 100 KB aren't used either: many email apps download every image the moment an email arrives, so a large logo slows down every digest you send.

The card tells you which of the three your emails use right now.

Upload an email logo (Team)

If your portal logo is an SVG, or too large, you can upload a separate logo just for email:

  1. Open Settings and find the Email sender card.
  2. Under Email logo, choose a PNG or JPG of 100 KB or less, between 16 and 1024 pixels on each side.
  3. Select Upload email logo.

The new logo is used from the next email on. Select Remove email logo to go back to your portal logo (or the letter).

If your plan changes

An email logo you already uploaded keeps showing if your workspace moves off the Team plan. You can still remove it at any time, but uploading a new one needs the Team plan again. Your PNG or JPG portal logo keeps appearing in email on every plan.
